Stevenson University Paralegal Internship Program

Silverman Thompson is excited to announce a new partnership with Stevenson University to host one undergraduate student from their Legal Studies Program each fall semester.

Students in the legal studies major are required to complete 120 hours in a legal internship to complete their Bachelor of Science degree.

Stevenson's Legal Studies Program emphasizes the importance of hands-on legal experience during students' undergraduate coursework to prepare them for various law-related fields. Stevenson is home to the first legal studies program in Maryland and the first in the state to be approved as a paralegal education program by the American Bar Association (ABA). Stevenson remains the only ABA approved four-year institution in the state of Maryland.

During their time at Silverman Thompson, our Stevenson paralegal intern shadows and works with every department at the firm in week-long rotations, gaining practical experience in criminal law, civil litigation, family law, real estate, and more.

"Partnering with Silverman Thompson is a perfect fit for our Legal Studies Program. Their dedication to fostering the future generation of the Baltimore legal community aligns beautifully with our hands-on curriculum. We are proud to collaborate with their highly skilled attorneys to provide our students with such a rich, practical learning environment." -Melanie Snyder, Head of Legal Studies at Stevenson University

We're proud to support Stevenson's commitment to educating and training paralegals. At our firm, we believe a strong legal staff is the foundation for our successful team of trial attorneys. Each year, we host over 20 undergraduate and graduate students from the region to learn about our wide variety of practice areas from our highly skilled attorney team. We believe in the importance of fostering future generations of the Baltimore legal community and are excited to see what the future of this program holds for our firm.

“Partnering with Stevenson University allows us to engage directly with exceptionally well-prepared students who are dedicated to the legal profession. Our legal staff are vital to everything we accomplish at Silverman Thompson, and providing this hands-on experience brings added value to both parties, as well as being a rewarding investment in the future growth of paralegal students in our community.” -Lisa Berman, Firm Administrator at Silverman Thompson

This internship is only open to students enrolled in the Stevenson University Legal Studies program. Students must apply directly through the department or contact the department to learn more.
